Backups and updates

Where your data lives

All register data sits in a single database file outside the program folder (in the Windows user profile), so updates never touch your data. The cloud credential is stored separately in the Windows Credential Manager — it is never part of a backup.

Backup and restore

Settings → Data & cloud: "Sicherung erstellen" writes a complete copy to a location of your choice (e.g. USB stick). "Sicherung zurückspielen" replaces the entire dataset — with a clear warning first. Back up before every update and regularly in production.

Installing updates

Simply install the latest installer from the product page over the existing installation — menu, receipts, shifts and settings are preserved. What changed is listed in the version history on the product page. Automatic updates are planned (requires a code-signing certificate).
